Bar steel is considered to be all shapes of bars such as in round, flat, square, hexagonal and many more.
Depending on the cross-section, the bar steel is produced hot-rolled or forged. The large diameters are then usually stored already pre-turned or peeled. Also, smaller dimensions are often offered in bright finish with tight tolerances.
It is divided here into structural, case-hardening, quenched and tempered and nitriding steels.
Applications for these steels include mechanical engineering, gears, shafts, components for the automotive industry, bolts, screws, piston rods and much more.
